The Satterberg Foundation is excited to announce that C’Ardiss “CC” Gardner Gleser has agreed to serve as the foundation’s first Director of Programs and Strategic Initiatives as of September 1, 2019. The Director of Programs & Strategic Initiatives will provide leadership and oversee the implementation of the foundation’s overall grantmaking strategy.
CC joined the Satterberg Foundation in 2016 as a Program Officer, after working with several renowned nonprofit organizations focused on equity and changing educations outcomes for underserved children in the Seattle area. The past three years, CC has brought her life experiences as well as the knowledge from volunteering nationally and locally (board member of Andrus Family Fund, Charlotte Martin Foundation, Philanthropy Northwest and The Bush School) to the work of the Satterberg Foundation. As a Program Officer, CC was critical to the development and growth of the Satterberg Foundation’s Core Support grant and relationship strategy which has provided multi-year, general operating grants to 183 organizations in Washington and in California to date.
CC has also been instrumental in supporting the Satterberg Foundation’s continued exploration of what diversity, equity and inclusion means to our organization. In 2017, CC collaborated with board and staff to form a DEI committee which has created the learning agenda that we are still showing up for every day. This past year, CC brought her vision of The Seattle Equity Summit to the Satterberg Foundation as an opportunity for us to go deeper into conversations about racial equity and to set up a community of practice made up of government, non-profit and businesses who are all working toward social change.
With CC’s continued leadership we can become leaders and a model for how philanthropy can show up in solidarity and as a trusted partner in our community.
